Margot Ribberink
Prominent Dutch Meteorologist
Margot Ribberink is a Dutch meteorologist, climate communicator, and presenter. She started her career in 1990 at Meteo Consult, the first commercial weather bureau in the Netherlands, and became the first female weather presenter on Dutch television. She gained national recognition during her 20-year tenure as weather presenter for RTL 4 (1993–2013).
Driven by her fascination with extreme weather, Ribberink travelled frequently to the United States to chase tornadoes during storm season. In addition to her work as a weather presenter, she developed herself as a climate journalist and co-produced the documentary Desert Alert in Mali (2011), which highlighted the societal impact of climate change.
Since 2019, Ribberink has focused on climate communication and sustainability, working as a speaker, moderator, and ambassador, translating complex climate themes into concrete and relatable insights.
